NHL 2K10 issue for Wii?

It's Christmas Day and my brother and I try to play NHL 2K10 with the Wii controllers for later regularly. We can not understand the opportunity to play each other if Vs! What are we doing wrong???

My wife and I are trying to find the same thing. We called the 866 number for technical assistance, and what I get from the man, who was not very helpful, is one person can play at once. We bought it hopes to play against each other because thats what it looks like they do in commercials and other things. I hope that the guy is wrong and that someone out there can help us both figure it out!
